ߋ@\ (Ochame Kinou) / }[YP feat. (Lamaze-P feat. Lon)
From the Internets. Nicovideo, to be precise.

Stepped by Xythar (gmmazz@hotmail.com) for DDREvolved.com Hits of 2010

Background, banner, animated banner were all made using screencaps from the coloured-in version of Lamaze-P's original video for Ochame Kinou, available all over the internet. Text was added by me.

So, the story behind this file... where should I start? As I understand, the song began as an instrumental version known as "Fukkireta" by Gojimaji-P (a pseudonym of Lamaze-P) associated with a video of some stick figure kinda guy with hands on hips shaking his booty. Like all strange and inexplicable things, this quickly became a meme among the Nicovideo community and many other videos imitating the dance sprang up over 2010. You can still see the little dancing guy in the lower left corner of the video for this file, though unfortunately he's mostly covered by the interface in Stepmania's default theme at least.

The first vocal version of the song (now called Ochame Kinou) was made using Kasane Teto, a UTAUloid (basically a freeware alternative to Vocaloids such as Miku Hatsune). Unfortunately, this is one good example of "you get what you pay for" as in my opinion the Kasane Teto version does not sound very good. Fortunately, a prolific Nico cover singer known as (the official romanisation appears to be "Lon", which is good because "Ron" made her sound like a dude) made her own cover of the song, and it is awesome. Ridiculously catchy. It has long since completely overtaken the original song in popularity (3.6 million views last I checked, which on Nico is rather a lot) and I'd consider it to be pretty much the definitive version at this point. Though Kasane Teto is still in the video and graphics themselves, the vocals for this particular version are all Lon.

I guess that's about all I have to say for this particular file!

Finally, a few words regarding the overall vision behind my Hits of 2010 entries - in this pack, since I haven't been paying much attention to pop music lately, I decided that I'd recap what 2010 meant for me in terms of stepfiling. So, I've included one stepfile representing each competition I entered this year - Yellow refers to Best-Mix 4 (same artist as Far Away, my DDR entry), Ochame Kinou refers to Cheesemix 6 (same artist as PoPiPo, my judged entry) and Get Out refers to Spookymix 2010 (same artist as Scream, one of my three Spookymix files). Well, technically four Spookymix files since I also did Ievan Polkka. Sorry.

As for Love or Lies, each End Of Year Bonus Pack so far I've alternated between Perfume and capsule (Perfume in '06, capsule in '07, then Perfume in '08 again) and since I missed out on the '09 pack, it's capsule's turn again. That is of course assuming I actually finish and submit the file, it's not quite done yet >_>

Hope you enjoy these files, and I'd also like to wish you all a merry (if somewhat belated) Christmas and a happy new year!
